Eugen Raportoru (n. 1961) este una dintre figurile marcante ale picturii contemporane românești, ale cărui lucrări dezvăluie straturi profunde de memorie socială și culturală. Tema centrală a artei sale este comunitatea romă, identitatea și vulnerabilitatea acesteia. Pe pânzele sale, urmele memoriei personale și colective se împletesc, unde culorile vibrante coexistă cu tonuri palide, reflectând atât bogăția culturii rome, cât și melancolia excluderii sociale.
Formele estompate și texturile stratificate ale lucrărilor sale creează o atmosferă plutitoare, onirică, care este simultan nostalgică și tulburătoare. Fragmentarea intenționată a compozițiilor sugerează suprapunerea trecutului și prezentului, în timp ce siluetele ce par să iasă din fundal plutesc ca niște fantome pe pânză.
Expoziția se deschide pe 21 martie 2025, la ora 18:00, la Galeria Annie Klaus din Cluj-Napoca. Curatorul expoziției este Horea Avram, iar artistul invitat, Dávid Frunzea, explorează, la rândul său, teme legate de identitatea socială în arta sa.

His art focuses on the Roma community, exploring themes of identity and vulnerability. On his canvases, personal and collective memories intertwine, where vibrant colors coexist with pale tones, reflecting both the richness of Roma culture and the melancholy of social exclusion.
His blurred forms and layered textures create a floating, dreamlike atmosphere that is both nostalgic and unsettling. The deliberate fragmentation of compositions suggests the merging of past and present, while ghostly figures seem to emerge from the background, hovering on the canvas.
The exhibition opens on March 21, 2025, at 18:00, at the Annie Klaus Gallery in Cluj-Napoca. The exhibition is curated by Horea Avram, with guest artist Dávid Frunzea, whose work also explores themes of social identity.
