Mihaela Ilie is a contemporary Romanian visual artist born in Cluj-Napoca, where she also completed her studies at the Romul Ladea High School of Fine Arts and later at the Ion Andreescu University of Art and Design. Her work focuses on emotional healing, the expression of inner worlds, and the therapeutic power of color. Her paintings frequently feature windows, beams of light, flowers, and other symbolic elements that convey openness of the soul, remembrance, and hope.
Her art combines traditional techniques (acrylic, oil, canvas) with digital media, and is grounded in the psychological effects of color—especially its emotional resonance. In her series of paintings, recurring themes such as light and shadow, loss and rebirth are central. Exhibitions like “Terapii pentru suflet” (Therapies for the Soul) and “Închis/Deschis/Întredeschis” (Closed/Open/Half-Open) exemplify this artistic vision, telling stories of grief, introspection, and the pursuit of inner harmony through dozens of works.
Mihaela Ilie is a member of the Romanian Visual Artists’ Union (UAP Ploiești), and has received several awards for her work. The city of Ploiești, for example, recognized her painting “Lecția de zbor” (Lessons in Flight). Her artworks function not only as gallery exhibits but also as emotional and communal spaces, using art as a tool for peace and personal healing.
Her artistic practice creates a unique balance between personal experience, spiritual meaning, and visual elegance. Through harmony in color, light, and form, she invites the viewer into a deeper, more intimate emotional encounter.
