Death on Skin
Mauricio Silerio — Mexico | In collaboration with Cristine Tomoroga
An extraordinary evening of art and Mexican culture took place at Annie Klaus Gallery, celebrating Mexican artist Mauricio Silerio and his exhibition Death on Skin, presented in collaboration with Cristine Tomoroga.
The opening was welcomed by a speech from Demostene Sofron, followed by a special address from the Consul of Mexico in Romania, who warmly welcomed the artist and marked the cultural significance of the occasion.
The exhibition featured a selection of prints of Silerio’s digital artworks, inspired by the striking imagery of Día de los Muertos. Colourful masks, feathers, flowers, dolls, and dramatic scenes filled the works, creating a powerful and visually memorable presence throughout the gallery.
To bring an authentic touch of Mexico to the evening, guests were served tequila alongside wine, adding to the festive atmosphere and making the opening a true celebration of art, culture, and connection.
Death on Skin was a memorable encounter with Mexican contemporary art, bringing Silerio’s distinctive digital works to Annie Klaus Gallery and creating a special cultural exchange between Mexico and Romania.
Mauricio is also making wood/lino cut based jewelry, some of these and some of the prints are also availible in our shop.
